A background into the Tiberian Timeline:

The year is 2040. The Earth has been plagued with an alienic substance which is known as tiberium. Tiberium was first introduced to Earth in the year 1995.Back then it was a green crystallised substance which leeched valuable minerals from the earths surface.Tiberium was also discovered to be poisonous to organisms.Plants and vegetation seemed to be the worst affected but it also affected animals and humans.Oddly,the effects of tiberium caused on creatures even of the same species could be drastically different,from a quiet quick death,to horrible mutation eventually resulting in death.

Many years after Tiberium started growing on Earth another type was found,instead of being a green crytalised substance which was named Riparius this was a dark blue,usually larger form of crystal,also,found to be in some cases explosive when the gases inside the crystals reacted with Oxygen,this type was named Cruentus.

Around the year 2026,Tiberium creatures were sprouting amongst Earth.These were usually a bright colour of orange and thrive in warm areas.They consisted of a large mouth and numerous amounts of veins which covered the areas around which the mouth grew. These were known as vein holes or vein monsters.When it came to the year 2030 these creatures were sprouting at a dangerously high rate.They frequently released poisonous gases into the atmosphere,scientists had a theory that these were acting like an atmosphere adapter and would soon change our atmosphere to be much more tiberium friendly like and completely different from our current one.

Further on into the 2030's new types of tiberium were forming,believed to be some mutated type of riparius and cruentus tiberium combining.A new red type started growing named vinifera, oddly this tiberium seemed to be highly adapted to cold and flourished in arctic zones. Then a purple shade of tiberium called aboreus was found growing in very warm areas,mostly deserts and areas near the equator.

Even though Tiberium is dangerous,it is used as a fuel for everything from a car,to a heavy lift transport aircraft.In some cases tiberium has been found very effective in weaponary as well,due to it being hazardous to living creatures it can be used in a very similar way to that of radiation,however tiberium affects organisms at a much faster and effective rate.

Not so long after the arrival of tiberium,new and strange life forms had been discovered. The first life form reported was a large blob like creature now called a visceroid.After research it was discovered these are the results of a human dying due to a tiberium related cause.Visceroids do not attack unless provoked.Also years later another common tiberium creature was found,however this seemed to be a breeded mutation of either a horse or dog like animal.These creatures were known as Tiberian Feinds and are usually very territorial,they will attack anything that comes too close unless it is another Tiberian Feind. One of the most dangerous terrors tiberium brought to life is the Tiberium Floater.A floating mutation of what seems to be a jelly fish,these creatures are very dangerous, their bodies are capable of generating electrical discharges.Also Tiberium Floaters produce tiberium gas,the same as the veinhole monster produces,this is believed to be a cause of the creature respirating.More tiberium creatures have been said to exist but there have been too few reliable reports to dispatch research teams.

The theory of tiberium terraforming by Professor E. Brown
This is a theory which was thought up by Professor E. Brown stating what the meteor that hit Tiber River really was.
His words.

"The final peice of the puzzle has been found. With examination of the tacitus, the alien crashed craft and the meteore that hit Earth I have come up with the following theory.

The meteorite that hit Tiber River in 1995 wasn't just a meteorite that crashed here by accident, it was intended. But no power on the face of the Earth could have drawn a meteorite to Earth in 1995 and it is still not possible now in 2040. Our crashed alien ship, which has been dubbed a "Scrin" creation had technology far more advanced than ours. I beleieve there are more Scrin ships out there.
I beleive the Scrin fired that meteorite at our planet back in 1995, and it has set off a proccess which will terraform this planet into a planet of their suiting. Notice how the ground has been leached of all minerals. Nearly all vegetation struggles to survive. Vein Hole Monsters release tiberium gas into the atmosphere. Vein Hole Monster hold a key part in the Scrin's terraforming proccess, they adapt our gas levels to meet their gas levels, tiberium kills off everything on a planet, leaving it practically empty of life. I believe the scrin will come to this planet hoping to find it completely dead, and completely changed. And how do I know they are coming? The crashed scrin ship, has been acting very oddly recently, strange voices echoing from with in it, its a sign, they are coming, and they will hope to find absoloutely no orignal life on this planet. But if they are coming now, they will come face to face with us. I beleive they will destroy us all and take our planet for their own. We must fight back!."

GDI secured this broadcast and kept a record of it. They had successfully covered up the scrin ship inncident and they did not wish to worry the popualtion. But from what E.Brown was saying and the facts were mostly true,some people just considered this "scrin invasion" a possibility.
